How It Works
Before we get started, we want to connect with you for an introduction to give you the opportunity to tell us about your child and your concerns. After that, we’ll schedule a time to complete an assessment with your child which will give us the necessary information to identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses and create a plan to address any weaknesses your child may display.

THE IMPORTANCE OF RE-EVALUATION
As children grow and develop, their needs, challenges, and strengths can evolve. Regular re-evaluation plays a crucial role in ensuring that intervention strategies and support align with their current requirements. It allows us to assess progress, identify new areas of concern, and fine-tune interventions for optimal outcomes.
At Lakeside Assessment Center, we recommend re-evaluation at specific intervals or whenever a significant change occurs in a child’s life, such as a transition to a new educational setting or the emergence of new challenges. Re-evaluation provides a fresh perspective, allowing us to understand your child’s evolving needs and tailor our recommendations accordingly.

What to Expect During the Re-evaluation Process
During the re-evaluation process, our goal is to build upon the foundation established during the initial evaluation and gain a deeper understanding of your child’s progress and current situation. Just like the first-time evaluation, the re-evaluation involves a comprehensive assessment process that combines interviews, testing, and collaboration with key individuals in your child’s life.
The process begins with an interview to review any changes or developments since the last evaluation. We’ll explore new concerns, milestones, and achievements to gain insight into your child’s current well-being. Additionally, we will engage with teachers, therapists, or any relevant professionals involved in your child’s care to gather a comprehensive picture of their progress and challenges.
Following the interview, we will conduct updated testing to assess your child’s cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning. The specific tests used may vary based on your child’s individual needs and goals. These assessments will help us understand their current strengths, areas of growth, and any emerging concerns that may require attention.
BENEFITS
Regular re-evaluation provides several key benefits for both you and your child. It enables us to:
- Track progress: Re-evaluation allows us to measure your child’s progress over time, comparing results to previous evaluations and identifying areas of improvement or potential regression.
- Adjust interventions: As we gain a deeper understanding of your child’s evolving needs, we can refine and adapt intervention strategies to ensure they continue to receive the most effective support.
- Identify new concerns: Re-evaluation helps us identify any emerging challenges or issues that may not have been present during the initial evaluation. Addressing these early can prevent them from escalating and impacting your child’s well-being.
- Enhance collaboration: Re-evaluation offers an opportunity to re-engage with teachers, therapists, and other professionals involved in your child’s care. It promotes collaboration and ensures everyone is aligned in supporting your child’s growth and development

NEXT STEPS
Once the re-evaluation process is complete, we will schedule a feedback conference to discuss the findings and recommendations. During this conference, Dr. Robinson will provide you with a comprehensive overview of your child’s progress, identify any new areas of concern, and discuss potential adjustments to the treatment plan.
Similar to the initial evaluation, you will receive an updated evaluation report that outlines the key points discussed during the feedback conference. This report serves as a valuable resource, summarizing the re-evaluation findings and providing you with a roadmap for ongoing support and progress.
At Lakeside Assessment Center, we are dedicated to supporting your child’s ongoing well-being through regular re-evaluation. Our comprehensive approach ensures that we stay attuned to their changing needs.
