How It Works
Before we get started, we want to connect with you for an introduction to give you the opportunity to tell us about your child and your concerns. After that, we’ll schedule a time to complete an assessment with your child which will give us the necessary information to identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses and create a plan to address any weaknesses your child may display.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE TESTING PROCESS
At Lakeside Assessment Center, we believe in taking a thorough and holistic approach to the evaluation process. We understand that every child is unique, and their journey towards positive outcomes begins with a comprehensive understanding of their background, developmental history, and family dynamics.
During the first-time evaluation, parents can expect a detailed interview focused on gathering essential information about their child. We will explore areas such as background history, developmental milestones, and any specific concerns you may have. Additionally, we actively involve teachers to gain valuable insights into your child’s social and learning skills.

Following the interview, the evaluation process involves approximately 4-6 hours of direct testing with the child. Rest assured, this testing is not solely computer-based but rather an interactive experience primarily based on question-and-answer interactions. Our aim is to create a comfortable and engaging environment for your child, allowing us to assess their strengths, challenges, and areas of potential growth accurately.
Unlike some other testing solutions that may feel rushed, at Lakeside Assessment Center, we prioritize a comprehensive evaluation. With our doctoral-level licensed psychologist, Dr. Robinson, leading the assessment, your child will receive personalized attention and direct involvement from an experienced professional.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE TESTING PROCESS
Following the completion of the testing phase, we understand that parents eagerly anticipate the results and recommendations. After two weeks, we will meet together for a feedback conference to discuss the findings of the evaluation. During this conference, Dr. Robinson will provide you with a comprehensive overview of your child’s strengths, weaknesses, and any potential diagnoses.
To support your understanding of the evaluation, you will receive a detailed evaluation report outlining the key points discussed during the feedback conference. This report serves as a valuable resource, providing you with a clear understanding of your child’s assessment results and the recommended plan moving forward.
Furthermore, we believe in fostering open communication and ongoing support. As part of our commitment to your child’s progress, you will have access to Dr. Robinson via phone or email. This allows you to stay connected and provide updates on your child’s skills and progress following intervention.
At Lakeside Assessment Center, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive, individualized evaluation process that sets the foundation for effective intervention and support for your child. We look forward to partnering with you on this journey towards your child’s well-being.
